| Freight-Ctrl offers the facility to start from the beginning of the freight cycle, with the contract between the buyer and seller. Contract details are received electronically, or entered directly onto Freight-Ctrl via manual input. A contract can be for an individual purchase order through to a multiple product agreement to be fulfilled over an extended time period, with quantities called off as required. The call-off generates an automatic electronic shipping instruction to the forwarding agents concerned.  |
| Details of the freight movement are updated as a shipment progresses. Information can also be entered directly over the Internet, where some of the parties involved in the shipment do not have appropriate in-house software. The Freight-Ctrl shipping database deals with air, sea, and road freight, and handles anything from a simple A to B consignment, to a complex shipment with a multiplicity of different products relating to different purchase orders, loaded into multiple containers, having multiple transhipment points, and split across multiple delivery points. |
| To complete the freight cycle, Freight-Ctrl accepts proof of delivery either as electronic messages, or by on-line entry, increasing the due diligence required by some products.

| Freight-Ctrl provides a simple yet powerful search engine, giving you the customer the ability to locate your freight with a variety of references and dates, and then to drill down to the details of the "call-offs" selected.

| Freight-Ctrl reporting, providing both current status and historical statistics, are presented on-screen as HTML reports, so that the end user can view, print, save or send them as required.

| As well as providing ad-hoc on-screen reporting, Freight-Ctrl users can also ask the system to send them reports, for example on shipments due/overdue, automatically. The user defines the selection criteria, and the frequency and timing of the reports (Freight-Ctrl takes account of different time zones). These reports are then sent in the form of e-mail attachments .csv files.

| Contract, shipping and delivery information is entered directly into Freight-Ctrl (subject of course to rigorous access security). However the preferred approach, wherever possible, is for information to be transferred electronically. Freight-Ctrl supports a defined set of messages covering the import and export of contract shipping and delivery information, together with confirmation and exception/rejection responses. Messages are sent to and from Freight-Ctrl as e-mail attachments. The receipt, processing and acknowledgement of these messages are a fully automated process for Freight-Ctrl. The most beneficial method is afforded by the fully integrated use of other Multifreight products such as Multifreight, Multished and Multistat.

| Freight-Ctrl operates on a "server farm", with separate application and database servers. The database servers are hidden behind a firewall with no direct access from the outside world. Within Freight-Ctrl itself, the system operator assigns user privileges, controlling which parts of the system individual users have access to, and whether they can enter, amend, or simply view the information. Within your database, information is strictly segregated, so that your customers and partners only have access to information that relates to them. For users requiring even higher levels of security, dynamic one-time password token authentication can be added. |
